Our March “SF wine for Locals tour” takes a look at the other half of the art of enjoying California wine. It takes a brief step away from the crushing of the grapes, the viewing of the barrels and the technical aspects and takes a closer look at the secret to what makes a good wine even more enjoyable…the FOOD! Gourmet Food and Wine Tasting for Locals
October 18th, 2009 - The Wine Harvest

October is Wine Making season in Napa Wine Country and we have an exclusive tour that goes behind the scenes of the Wine Making process. Unlike other Wine Country tours, you will be doing a little of the work on this tour! Get ready to roll up your sleeves and join in the crushing of the grapes at Hopper Creek Winery. Everyone in the group will have the chance to experience and participate in what wine makers call the "punching down" of the grapes. Once you have tried this you will definitely appreciate all the hard work that goes in to making good red wine. Once the work is done and out of the way your guide will take over and, you can sit back and enjoy a glass for yourself! (Please be advised do not wear white on this tour!)
