July 12th – Gourmet Food and Wine Tasting for Locals

Sonoma County has a reputation for producing not only some of the finest wines but also some of the best olive oils in California. If you love wine, olives, or chocolate, then this tour is a treat for you! Our upcoming tour has all the tasty and tantalizing ingredients to a make a great day in the Northern California wine country. You will see and experience taste sensations at every stop starting with a sip of wine , followed by more local wine and a lovely picnic. We will also make our way to see and experience the art of making olive oil and how it’s bottled. Oh, and did we mention the chocolate? We will visit a gourmet chocolate factory for some sweet chocolate tasting. The tour will take guests behind the scenes to learn how all these gourmet delights are made.

Robledo

11.00 AM – Robledo
We'll waste no time and get right to the wine tasting at your first stop, the Robledo Family Winery. Reynaldo Robledo Sr. started from virtually nothing in 1968 and has grown over the years to having over 200 acres of vineyards in both Napa, Sonoma and the Lake Counties. The tasting room itself is beautiful, the walls are decorated with old stories about the family and some old photos of Mexico, it also houses many of the oak barrels that the winery uses to age the wine. Being a Family Winery, there is almost always a family member present ready to answer any question you may have and make your experience at Robledo an unforgettable one.

Olive Press

12:00 PM – Private Olive Oil Press Tour and Tasting
This stop will be at Figone’s Olive Press where one of the Pioneers of the California Olive Oil industry still makes and bottles their gourmet olive oil. This olive press produces many varieties of olive oils from locally grown trees, and all the oils are blended and bottled on-site in the traditional manner of Figone’s Italian heritage.

Tasty Chocolate!

12:30 PM – Chocolate & Truffle Factory tour and tasting
Did you think Ghirardelli was the only chocolate maker in this area? We will visit a local gourmet chocolate maker in the Sonoma countryside to experience a sweet taste sensation of truffles and observe the way they are made. As fun as it is to watch them being made the real reason to come here is the tasting. If you appreciate fine chocolate, bring your credit card because you’ll be tempted to buy out the store.

Jack London Village

1:00 PM – Lunch at Glen Ellen.
You can bring your own picnic lunch or purchase one of the tasty gourmet lunches at the restaurants and cafes in the historic Jack London Village area and enjoy it on the tables beside the soothing sounds of Sonoma Creek.

Mayo Family Winery

2:30 PM – Mayo Family Winery Tasting & Tour
After Lunch we will continue on our adventure in wine country. A well known local family winery, the Mayo Family Vineyards at Glen Ellen: The Mayo Family opened their winery in 1993 and take pride in making small batches of high quality single vineyard wines. They offer a variety of reds, whites, and dessert wines; however, they are well-known for their unique take on Zinfandels, including a Zin port and wine made from 100-year old vines!

Wine Drinking

4:00 PM – Cline
Cline Cellars is a truly picturesque vineyard and winery. Their magnificent landscaped grounds are surrounded by 350 acres of vineyards and lush lawn surrounded by 5, 000 rose bushes. This historic property was site of a Miwok Village, the first camp of the Sonoma Mission, a natural hot spring bath house of the early 1900s, a horse ranch and today it is the perfect place for a picnic in the wine country.

Return to San Francisco

6:00 PM – Return to San Francisco
Drop offs at various hotel locations of where you were picked up before you embarked on this lovely daytrip into the Sonoma county wine and chocolate wonderland.
